Cascadia Music’s Programs

EDUCATION

As part of Cascadia’s mission statement to build community by creating opportunities to learn, perform and experience the joy of music, Cascadia makes it a priority to give students opportunities to perform with and learn from professional musicians as mentors.

PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS AND MORE
Thanks to the leadership and dedication of Pam Hunt, who was recently published in the American Suzuki Journal, students can take private music lessons through the Pipestone Institute of Music, or join the Pipestone Youth Orchestra, attend Pipestone Summer Camp, work towards Merit Scholarship Auditions, or their own recitals. You can connect with music teachers offering private lessons through Cascadia Music’s Faculty Directory on their website, www.cascadiamusic.org.

Cascadia Music and the Pipestone Institute of Music also provide the following:
-Cascadia’s Instrument Loan Program, with stringed instruments, keyboards and other instruments available especially for young learners.
-Strings Program in the Methow Valley School District in partnership with Public School Funding Alliance
-Music Theory Classes
-Master Classes with visiting artists

SCHOLARSHIPS Thanks to the Cherrington Family, Cascadia Music is proud to be the stewards of The Christine Cherrington Memorial Scholarship Fund providing both needs-based scholarship support for families throughout the year, and Merit Scholarship Competition and awards for students every spring.

Cascadia Music Programs include Performance

Cascadia invites you to join their community ensembles. Cascadia Chorale, the Methow Valley Orchestra and the Pipestone Youth Orchestra are opportunities to share the joy of music. These are open to everyone in the community with a desire to learn more about music.

Not a performer? Volunteer to decorate or serve at events to get in on the fun at community celebrations. Cascadia has been thriving for over thirty years because of community volunteerism and support.
Cascadia Music Programs Include Experience

Get Inspired! Cascadia Music offers a breadth of events, master classes, musical performances, community dances and events. Some of their annual favorites include their Annual Holiday Concert, Musicians of the Methow, as well as Jazz in the Methow. Another well-loved event is Cascadia Music’s Annual Memorial Day gathering of jazz musicians, students and teachers for workshops, jazz jams, master classes and concerts from local and visiting artists. Artists include Pierre Bensusan, The Westerlies, Wayne Horvitz, Nancy Zahn, George Winston, Lynette Westendorf Trio, Marcus Duke and George Schneider.

Connect with Cascadia Music this summer and find your opportunity to play, learn, sing or dance along.
