Community Art Activism – Releasing Fear and Manifesting Hope

Sat, May 13, 3-6pm, 2017

art-activism-SpringConfluence Gallery invites the community to participate in a new series of Community-based Art Activism workshops. Taught by Michele Koger, MA, LMFT, ATR a Twisp-based Art Therapist and Family Therapist, the spring gathering theme is Releasing Fear and Manifesting Hope.

Participants will create a series of prayer flags to release fearful thoughts and feelings and to call in symbols of hope they wish to manifest for our community and our country. The hopeful prayer flags will be hung outside at Confluence Gallery to blow in the wind. Historically it is believed that the prayers and mantras on flags are blown by the wind to spread good will and compassion throughout all pervading space as they flutter in the wind. Everyone who is touched by that wind benefits from the good intentions. The wind spreads good will through the world, bringing benefit to all…a reverent reminder that our prayers are heard and answered…a living, breathing, kinetic journal of spreading a message of hope, healing, and well-being.
