The Liberty Bell Drama Company’s high school class will be producing and performing Anton Chekov’s The Cherry Orchard at The Merc Playhouse in Twisp from Feb 3-5, 2017. This comic masterpiece about a family on the edge of ruin and a country on the brink of revolution was first performed in 1904, but remains both relevant and humorous today. Chekov’s last play is a subtly comic look at the miscommunications and misunderstandings between would-be lovers, set against the backdrop of  the decline Imperial Russia at the turn of the twentieth century.
