Methow Gallery presents work by Mary Lou McCollum

McCollum, RAVEN(1)The exquisite paintings of Mary Lou McCollum are currently on display at the Methow Gallery in Twisp. An eclectic mix of McCollum’s finest work was chosen by curator Laura Karcher and will be in her gallery, located in the south warehouse at TwispWorks through August.

McCollum’s work spans many years and several styles and subjects. Her fascination with stairs in contagious. Her view of chairs moves from melancholic to cheerfully grand to downright electric. Trees, rocks and bones are all given a rich and deep presence by her deft brushwork. She has a real gift for infusing mundane objects with vivid emotion.

McCollum studied art at the N Seattle Community College and the Gage Academy. She has exhibited extensively in the Methow Valley and Seattle, and won awards at the Magnolia Festival and the Seattle Co-Arts Show.
