What happens when a young boy plants Wonder Beans in his own backyard? For Jack, it is the beginning of a great adventure. With a little help from P.T. Wonder and a Giant, Jack learns a valuable lesson about true happiness. This musical production also features a host of other characters, including the Elegant Harp, Jill, Mother, Milky White, the Farmers, the Merchants, the Circus Performers and the Wonder Beans.
Auditions will be held for JACK & THE BEANSTALK on Mon, Oct 28, from 12:40-2:40pm, at the Methow Valley Elementary School Cub Gym. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition. All students grades 1st-12th are encouraged to audition. Among the roles to be cast are Jack, the Giant, the Elegant Harp, Mother, Milky White, the Farmers, and other parts.
Not all who audition will be cast in parts; MCT can only take about 50 kids. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production. There is a $25 participation fee for those cast in roles or support positions. Scholarships are available.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals at MVE throughout the week from 12:40-5pm each day. Not all actors will need to rehearse every day; rehearsal schedule depends on roles.
All who are cast in parts are expected to be at all required rehearsals from Mon Oct 28 through the performances on Sat Nov 2. There will be rehearsals on Halloween, Oct 31, from 12:40-5pm, although the youngest children will be finished at 2:40pm.
