Missoula Children’s Theatre: Robin Hood

Sat, Nov 15, 3 & 7pm, 2014

2014 MCT Postersmall2The time is simply long ago and the place is the magical, mythical Sherwood Forest. Our hero, Robin Hood, and his Merry Band of colorful characters seek the help of the Foresters, manage to waylay the Aristocrats and set out to rescue Maid Marion and Marion’s Maid. Prince John tries to stay calm as his Sheriff, Guards and Horsemen botch Robin’s arrest thanks to the aromatic Skunks. Wacky humor and an original score add to this fresh new look at a legendary outlaw in a legendary time.

Auditions will be held for ROBIN HOOD on Mon, Nov 10, from 12:40-2:40pm, at the Methow Valley Elementary School Cub Gym. All students grades K-12 are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Not all who audition will be cast in parts; MCT can only take about 50 kids. Assistant Directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production. Parents do not need to stay for auditions, but are welcome to. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals at MVE throughout the week from 12:40-5:10pm each day. Not all actors will need to rehearse every day; generally the younger the child, the fewer rehearsals. The youngest children will rehears Wed-Fri, plus all day Saturday.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for 39 years. MCT’s mission is the development of lifeskills in children through participation in the performing arts.
