Pipestone Music Days Celebration

The weekend of May 25-26 is a big one in the local music scene. Pipestone’s 13th annual Music Days Celebration will be held in the Methow Valley Community Center gym, with a Pipestone Orchestra concert on Saturday evening and an afternoon of student recitals on Sunday.
On Saturday, May 25 7:00 PM the Pipestone Orchestra will present a program that includes Dvorak’s New World Symphony, 1st movement, Two Movements from a Mozart Violin Concerto, featuring Nick Saunders, a graduating senior, and the first movement from the Schumann Piano Concerto featuring Linda Mendro.
This year Pipestone has introduced a Merit Scholarship to celebrate young music students who are working hard and playing with advanced ability. The winner will be chosen this spring, and will be performing during the May 25 Saturday night Music Days concert.
On Sunday, May 26 from 1- 4pm, Pipestone students will display their talents and the fruits of a year’s dedication to music study. Enjoy the sounds of violin, viola, cello, guitar, piano and flute as you encourage young students in their musical endeavors. Sunday’s student recitals are free and open to the public. Donations are requested.
Pipestone is the educational branch of Cascadia, the Methow Music Association. Cascadia’s mission is to enrich the lives of Methow Valley residents by providing opportunities to learn, perform and listen to high-quality music. For more information on Music Days please call.
