Plein Aire Painting Workshop with Rod Weagant

Rod-Weagant-plein-aire-promo-photo.jpg-webJoin Master painter Rod Weagant for a two-day workshop painting en plein aire at on-site locations in the Methow Valley.

Rod Weagant will teach strategies for viewing the world with a painter’s eye and how to meet the challenges of painting in the open air. Demonstrations will be in oil paint, but, students may use any medium. All levels welcome. The workshop begins Friday, September 15 at 7pm with a plein aire slideshow presentation and a discussion of workshop goals and on-site painting locations at Confluence Gallery. Saturday and Sunday will be full days painting in the field 9-5pm with a break for lunch. Artists are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch and dress for the weather.

Rod Weagant makes his home in Methow Valley and has traveled the Yukon, Alaska, and the western U.S. painting and conducting workshops in plein aire painting for over 25 years. He has had over 45 one-man exhibitions and has participated in numerous group shows, including 3 museum shows benefiting The Nature Conservancy.
