About The Artist
My photography conveys my passion for being in nature and spending time in the great outdoors. The desire to experience wilderness, nature’s changing moods and seasons, and to observe the creatures that inhabit this earth in their natural environment, are the motivations that get me outside time and time again. The pursuit of photography inspires me to bring my camera along to capture the beauty I experience so it can be shared with others. As an artist, I hope my work motivates people to explore and protect the natural world that surrounds us. I think Galen Rowell said it best: “My interest in photography did not begin with books or mentors, or with any burning desire to see the world through a camera. It evolved from an intense devotion to mountains and wilderness that eventually shaped all the parts of my life and brought them together.”
Lidija Kamansky is a fine art nature and landscape photographer based in Winthrop, Washington. She’s had a camera in her hands since childhood, and has very few photos of herself at camp, or with friends, because she was always the one behind the camera. Lidija took her first photography classes in the late 90’s and it was then that she knew that she wanted to be a serious photographer. She has been honing her craft since then, traveling extensively and photographing all around the Pacific Northwest, California, and many of our National Parks. Lidija’s award-winning photography has been published by National Geographic, Outdoor Photographer, and the Seattle Times.
