Cascadia Music’s Holiday Concerts

Dec 12, 7pm and Dec 13, 2pm, 2020

Save time for Cascadia Music’s Holiday Concerts. Singing together lifts us up! Playing together brings us joy! Even if we can’t meet in person, bringing our hearts and minds together is more important than ever. Cascadia Music is grateful to be a part of this community that is strong, resilient and resourceful. Starting in September they invited the community to join them in creating a Holiday Celebration that was sure to make the community proud.

This year’s event looks a bit different as do most events we’ve seen. Cascadia will present a virtual event, the Cascadia Music Holiday Concert, simulcast on Facebook, KTRT and recorded for viewing after the event, will take place around the valley, sharing songs of joy and peace, hope and greetings of the season.

Cascadia’s ensembles are preparing to rehearse virtually or in small socially-distanced groups to continue their 34 year tradition of preparing a Holiday Concert and annual gift for its community.

Rehearsals will begin in September and continue through mid-December. Community ensembles are open to anyone willing to sing, play and learn more. All levels, from beginning to advanced are encouraged to join.

Cascadia emphasizes that the health and safety of its ensembles and community is very important to them. In their commitment to keeping friends and family safe, they will be following the guidelines from local and state health departments as they change. Virtual means of music distribution, rehearsal recordings and social distancing will enable participants to rehearse without meeting in person, and technology enables them to put together a Holiday Celebration and message of hope for everyone in our community. Volunteers are welcome and tasks will include making or editing videos, decorating spaces for recordings, and more.
