Mary Kiesau Community Fellowship & Sharing Event

Sat, June 25, 7pm, 2022

The spirit of Mary Kiesau, a well-loved and passionate naturalist, educator and photographer, continues to live on with the legacy of her Community Fellowship Fund. To date, five awards of $1,000 each have been given to individuals working on a variety of compelling projects that highlight the intersection of art, education and stewardship of the environment.

On June 25th at 7pm in the cozy Merc theater, the community will have an opportunity to learn more about the recipient’s work through a multi-media presentation. Naturalist and photographer David Lukas will talk about his field work capturing local wildflowers in educational videos. Visiting multi-media artists Etsuko Ichikawa and Suze Woolf will talk about their upcoming residencies in the Methow that will allow them to expand on their projects spanning multiple locations. Local author, herbalist, and educator Rosalee de la Foret will talk about her upcoming book, currently in the making. A copy of David Moskowitz’s newest book will also be available to view and purchase.

To honor Mary’s legacy, this event is intended to spread inspiration and hope for our shared future together as we care for the Methow landscape and all the creatures who live here. This event is free and open to the public. Donations to expand the impact of the fund will be graciously accepted.
