METHOW ARTS awards $30,000 in grants to artists – COVID-19 RELIEF FUND GRANTS

July 10, 2020

THANK YOU ANONYMOUS DONORS!
We thank all artists who applied for our Methow Arts COVID-19 Relief Grant. Generous funding from anonymous donors supported thirty Methow Valley artists who lost business income due to closures caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Each artist was awarded a grant of $1,000 each. The grant is now officially closed, but we are here to help artists in need of resources and professional development opportunities. Just email us @ info@methowartsalliance.org. Our office doors are open by appointment only through the summer. #MethowArts #methowstrong #artgrowshere

ABOUT THE METHOW ARTS COVID-19 RELIEF FUND

Methow Valley artists are facing severe loss in income and business. Rural artists continue to be deeply impacted as events, conferences, art at Farmer’s Markets, and performances across the country continue to cancel. They are impacted by hospitality industry and retail/artist studio closures, school closures, travel restrictions, continued lay-offs and social distancing recommendations. And Methow Arts recognizes that our rural artists are not eligible for the majority of emergency grants that target King-County or urban artists across the country.

The COVID-19 METHOW ARTS RELIEF FUND provides grants in support of the critical needs of working artists in the Methow Valley* whose incomes have been impacted by COVID-19. We express our deep gratitude to our very generous donors who have made these critical funds possible. *Please note, Relief Fund donors have asked that grants directly support artists currently residing in the Methow Valley.

At this time Methow Arts has $30,000 in funding. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and awarded weekly until funds have been exhausted. The first round of grants will be distributed June 5th. Please email us at info@methowartsalliance.org with any questions.

If you are interested in contributing to this fund or starting a new fund for a different NCW community contact our executive director, Amanda Jackson Mott, amanda@methowartsalliance.org, 509-341-4413 or DONATE HERE.

METHOW ARTS will offer at least 30 unrestricted cash grants of $1,000 each to support working Methow Valley artists who report:

·         Lost income due to cancelled events, conferences, school closures and performance cancellations.
