Rehearsals start in September for Cascadia’s Holiday Concerts

September 2019

Cascadia Chorale celebrates new leadership, lasting friendships, hard work and a gift to the community.

After a long search for someone to fill the shoes of incredible directors past, Terry Hunt will take up the mantle of chorale director this season, with Michael Brady serving as assistant Director, and Marcus Duke accompanying.

Terry envisions a program balanced with classics or more challenging pieces, popular music and good old holiday cheer. Something for everyone!

If you have dreamed of singing in the choir, learning more about music or just being a part of something special for the Holidays, this is a great opportunity to get involved.

The Cascadia Chorale will start rehearsals on September 16th, meeting on Monday nights from 7-9pm at the United Methodist Church. No experience is necessary. Contact Cascadia with questions about the Chorale at cascadiamv@gmail.com.

The Methow Valley Orchestra celebrates a new name and a collaborative approach to Leadership.

One of the very first actions of the newly formed Orchestra Leadership Team, was to reimagine the name of the orchestra to include the whole Methow Valley. The leadership team will be a place to discuss feedback from audiences and orchestra members, ensure it the future of the orchestra for our community going forward and to explore other opportunities to make music and have fun.

“I really enjoy coming to Orchestra; it’s made up of a lot of friendly people who make you feel like family. Most every practice Matt teaches us something new about music that I didn’t know. It usually comes with a history lesson that ends up with “and that’s why it is the way it is today!”… Under Matt’s patient direction, I become more and more confident that we can actually play these pieces!” says Chris Warren.

Maestro Matt Armbrust, Conductor, is excitedly arranging pieces for the Holiday Concert to captivate and delight audiences this year. Pck up that dusty old tuba! Or get a little more experience under your belt young players! All are welcome. Rehearsals for the orchestra start on September 5th at 6:30pm and continue at that time each Thursday at the Methow Valley Community Center in room 3.
